This study aims to examine the role of the environmental element of decor in the development of interactive narratives in video games. The significance of this research lies in demonstrating how decor can serve as an effective tool to create rich, multifaceted environments in games. By precisely applying decor, interactive narratives can be expanded and deepened, allowing this environmental element to enhance the narrative aspects of video games. The main research question addresses how the design and selection of various decor components in video games contribute to the formation and complexity of interactive narratives, expanding the storytelling experience. This study explores how different decor elements, such as architectural design, furniture, decorative items, and cultural or historical details like posters, family photos, labels, and inscriptions, influence character development, advance the storyline, and enrich the user's experience while interacting with the game world. To achieve this, the research collects data using a documentary method and evaluates it through an analytical-interpretive approach. The results show that the environmental element of decor in games is more than just a visual component; it functions as a key tool in shaping narratives and adding depth to stories and characters. Well-designed decor can make the game's narrative environment more immersive and believable, guiding users toward a deeper understanding of the game world and its hidden narrative layers. Furthermore, the effective integration of decor with other game elements, such as gameplay mechanics, enhances the overall experience, emotionally connecting users with the game world.
