The main purpose of this research is to find, classify and dramatically study the most important locational indicators in the given play. This research intends to analyze and examine the location, according to a semiotic approach, in order to show the implicit and explicit relationships between locations and the different dramatic elements such as characterization, action and plot. In order to analyze the location in this play, Verbal localization (stage direction, verbal indicators, dialogue), non-verbal localization (relationships between on-stage and off-stage, relationships between multiple locations in a single locale and in various locales) have been studied based on the ideas of different semioticians who have studied in this field. The results show that location plays an important role in the dramatic structure of “Melody of a Rainy City” and it greatly contributes to develop the dramatic elements. Places in this play can be linked to other elements such as character drama, actions and reactions, and plot. پژوهش حاضر با روشی تحلیلی-توصیفی و با بهره‌گیری از نشانه‌شناسی مکان، به تحلیل مکان و ارتباط آن با سایر عناصر نمایشی در نمایشنامه‌ی ملودی شهر بارانی نوشته‌ی اکبر رادی می‌پردازد. هدف اصلی این پژوهش یافتن مهم‌ترین مؤلفه‏‌های مکانی در نمایشنامه‌ی منتخب و طبقه‌بندی و مطالعه‌ی آن‏هاست، بررسی چگونگی تأثیر مکان در پیشبرد عناصر درام از دیگر اهداف این پژوهش است. همچنین پژوهش حاضر بر آن است با بررسی و تحلیل مکان با رویکردی نشانه‌شناختی، روابط ضمنی و صریح مکان با عناصر گوناگون نمایشی مانند شخصیت‏ پردازی، کنش و پیرنگ را مشخص سازد. برای تحلیل نشانه‌شناختی مکان در این نمایشنامه از مکان‏-پردازی کلامی (دستور صحنه، شاخص‏ های کلامی، دیالوگ) و مکان‏-پردازی غیر کلامی (روابط صحنه و خارج از صحنه، روابط میان چند مکان واحد، روابط میان چند مکان متفاوت) استفاده شده است. این بررسی بر اساس آرای نشانه‌شناسانی که در این زمینه مطالعه کرده‌اند، انجام شده است. با توجه به بررسی‌های انجام‏ شده می‌توان گفت مکان در نمایشنامه‌ی ملودی شهر بارانی، نقش مهمی در ساختار دراماتیک اثر دارد و به پیشبرد عناصر نمایشی کمک کرده است. https://dam.journal.art.ac.ir/article_297_5f9a19b2d88e6da9601264b6f8efe5d3.pdf
